For Susan Burton, getting on track after being released from prison was a daunting experience. Now she’s determined to help other women follow in her footsteps. Her new memoir is ‘Becoming Ms. Burton.’ Susan is interviewed on NPR by Terry Gross for Fresh Air. She now runs five houses for women that are safe, drug and alcohol-free and where they can rebuild their lives. She helps them acclimate to being out, gets them counseling, job applications and help to gain custody of their children.
